Smithville ready to welcome Santa

The Smithville Santa Claus Parade is only a couple of weeks away, on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The parade committee has been working hard to produce a top-flight parade for all to enjoy. Everyone loves bands, and they are excited to announce that to date they have confirmed 10 bands are entered in the parade with possibly one or two more to join.

There will be no lack of Christmas and marching music, with pipe and drum bands, brass bands, marching bands and all related colour, pomp and ceremony.

The traditionally festive event is shaping up to be better than ever and all the relative music can only make it more exciting for those of all ages.

Following the parade, the Smithville Arena will feature “Art on Ice”  from about 4 p.m., where younger artists can physically paint on the ice surface.

From approximately 6 p.m., there will be a free-skate at the arena sponsored by Touchdown Willy’s, with local band ‘Non Fiction’  providing entertainment.

For further information or a parade application please contact chairman Dave Willis at 905-957-7577.
