Lincoln chamber announces tourism awards

Stephen and Jacquelene Del Col, and their suite of Jordan Village enterprises has garnered the 2014 Tourism Award of Distinction.

The award, given by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, will be presented at the Chamber’s 2014 Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAA) gala dinner at Inn On The Twenty on March 26.

This award recognizes outstanding local businesses that are vital to the allure and prosperity of the Town of Lincoln as a tourist destination.

Over more than 20 years, the Del Cols have built their winning business collective – Zooma Zooma resto and wine bar and retail shops, Tintern On Main and Jack Style Collective.

In announcing the 2014 award recipient, David Hoare, President, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, highlights, “In creating this unique grouping of dining, entertainment and shopping experiences, Steve and Jacquelene have contributed substantially to the distinctive draw of Jordan and the Twenty Valley area as an attractive destination for people from near and far. It’s very exciting to see how the Del Cols have stayed true to their vision and achieved exceptional business success.”

“The Tourism Award of Distinction is significant in the Lincoln Chamber’s interest in working closely with the Twenty Valley Tourism Association (TVTA),” explains Margaret Andrewes, Chair, 2014 OBAA Committee. The award selection panel includes representatives of both the Chamber and the TVTA.

Established in celebration of the Chamber’s 10th anniversary of its Outstanding Business Achievement Awards program in 2012, the actual award is an original sculpture rendered for each recipient by Beamsville artist, Floyd Elzinga of
Artifice.

The recipient of the inaugural Tourism Award of Distinction in 2012 was Cave Spring Cellars Ltd. and Inn On The Twenty. The 2013 recipient was The Good Earth Food and Wine Co.

Established in 1985, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce has 200 current members and is dedicated to growing and sustaining the economic prosperity of its community by serving, connecting and representing its members.
