Big winners at the Lions sports raffle

A little rain didn’t stop the first annual Beamsville and District Lions Club sports raffle.

The winners were announced on Saturday, May 3 at the Lincoln Community Centre.  Councillor John Kralt pulled the winning tickets using the electronic spinning raffle wheel which was built by Lion Jack Polsky.

The results were: Trackker boat was won by Josh Erb; Taylor Made Golf Clubs won by Daniel Levesque; Two mountain bikes were won by Steve Bennett; Camping gear was won by Rob McMaster; The $500 gift card for Bass Pro was won by Tom and Carol Wall; The $500 gift card for Grimsby Tackle was won by Bob Wicklund.

Lions secretary Steve Metelsky said the weather was reasonably mild during the raffle and the rain held off until minutes before Kralt activated the raffle ticket machine and with little difficulty, he was able to stop the spinning wheel long enough to pull a ticket for each prize.

The club is already busy planning for next year’s event.

“It was a year in preparation for this moment which was over in two minutes,” Metelsky explained. “We will be launching our second Annual Sports Raffle very soon – with great prizes and lots of early bird/bonus type draws throughout.”
