High Flyers Grounded in West Lincoln

In the evening hours of Thursday, July 31, members of the Special Enforcement Unit conducted a speed enforcement exercise in West Lincoln concentrating their efforts on Reg. Rd. 24.

As a result, during a three-hour period, 16 Provincial offence notices were laid including charges for speeds ranging from 27km/hr to 61km/hr over the 80km/hr speed limit.

A female driver was stopped after being clocked at 61km/hr over the speed limit. She advised she was rushing to pick up her 24-year-old daughter. Investigation revealed her driver’s licence was suspended. Her vehicle was impounded for 7 days and an additional drivers licence suspension was issued.

Another male driver was stopped for speeding 30km/hr over the speed limit. He was unable to produce any documents for the vehicle, stating he had just purchased the vehicle in Burlington. Investigation showed there was no insurance on the vehicle.
