It was an appreciative bunch at respective inaugural town council meetings in West Niagara on Monday night.
In Lincoln, new Mayor Sandra Easton took her seat at the head of the council table for the first time.
Whether it was moving ahead with Lincoln’s planned centre of agricultural excellence plan; the development of the huge parcel of land at Prudhomme’s landing, or driving tourism initiatives, Easton said council needs to work together.
Noting that she sees the roll of the mayor to develop a focus for attaining goals, “This does not mean I have last word,” she said.
Mayor Bob Bentley was sworn in for his fourth term as mayor of the Town of Grimsby. In his inaugural address he thanked the community for its continued support.
He noted there are a number of business items the town needs to address and although not everyone will be pleased, it is up to council to work for the majority.
