Special Olympics curlers off to nationals

The ice may be gone but the memories of a fantastic season are still very vivid for the members of the Grimsby-Lincoln Special Olympics Curling team.

The team attended Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games in North Bay in February and after a very demanding weekend of curling came home with a silver medal.

They left North Bay not knowing if they had qualified for the National Games in Cornerbrook, NL in 2016.

The first week of April it was announced they have qualified for next year’s Special Olympics National Winter Games. The team is beyond excited and eager to begin the training and practice they will need to compete at a National level.

Grimsby-Lincoln Special Olympics would like to thank Chimney Top Masonry and The Grimsby Curling Club for their generous support as we started and continue to build the program.
