Program launched to welcome cyclists peddling through town

Grimsby’s Bike Friendly Business Network was officially launched Saturday.

As part of the program, coordinated by the Grimsby Downtown Improvement Area board, cyclists working their way through the core can expect to get things like a bottle of water or a bike repair kit at participating businesses.

Pat Maloney, chair of the Grimsby’s Active Transportation Committee, lauded the DIA’s support.

“This is a great step for Grimsby and it is great to see the DIA supporting it,” he said.
