More than 100 artists, patrons of the arts and visitors packed the Grimsby Art Gallery on Friday, June 12 to view selected art from the permanent gallery collection exhibited side by side with the creative works of the local Lakeside Pumphouse Artists Association (LPAA).
One year ago, the LPAA submitted a proposal to hold an Exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Grimsby Public Art Gallery. Pieces were chosen from the archives to provide inspiration and creative fire and for the last year, the artists have researched and produced their responses. The artists were invited to interpret, edit, or copy from a personal perspective and worked in watercolour, acrylic, textile, pastel and mixed media.
The exhibition is open to the public from June 12 to July 12 during regular gallery hours
