NRP updates officers’ condition after Vineland incident

Sunday at approximately 8:35 pm two officers from the Grimsby Detachment of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended a residence on Epp Street in Vineland.

During the course of the call both officers were injured. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by the Special Investigation Unit.

The officers both suffered burn injuries.

Cst. Dale Culley, 35, an eight-year member of the NRP, was transported to a local hospital where he received treatment and was released.

Cst. Phil Sheldon, 40, a seven-year member of the NRP, was transported to a local hospital, and subsequently airlifted to an out-of-region hospital for treatment. He remains in hospital in serious condition.

The officers and their families, along with the NRPS would like to thank the public and members of the many partner agencies who have sent best wishes and support for our officers.
