Riverboat passengers raise Community Care dollars

It was a sold-out crowd at West Lincoln Community Care’s Ninth Annual fundraising dinner, this year themed Magnolia Blossom Riverboat Cruise.

WLCC chair Steve Witt said the evening – held at Covenant Christian School – went off without a hitch.

The event included a full dinner, live entertainment and a silent auction.

“It is always a great event and this year was no different,” said Witt, adding events like the annual dinner are very important to generating the resources to serve the community’s needs.

And the needs are constant he said. The foodbank can always use donations of canned pasta, toiletries, canned vegetables, flour, juice, cereals, and a host of other staples.

WLCC is also looking to bolster its volunteer complement. If you have time to sort clothes, pick up or sort food donations or help out in either the furniture or clothing retail outlets, among other things, call 905-957-5882.
