PC candidate Sam Oosterhoff made history Thursday night, and made it quickly, as he decisively became the youngest MPP to ever be elected to Queen’s Park.
“Tonight, we have made history,” said PC Leader Patrick Brown in introducing Oosterhoff to a large crowd and dozens of media packed into the grand ballroom at Kittling Ridge Winery Inn.
“We have elected the youngest serving MPP in Ontario history.”
The victory in Niagara West Glanbrook, widely considered a PC stronghold, still should send the Kathleen Wynne Liberals a simple, clear message, said Oosterhoff.
“People have had enough of soaring Hydro rates,” Oosterhoff told the crowd.
He said his focus on the issues and avoiding issues his competitors attempted to create were key to his win.
