Robert Foster, Lincoln, Regional Councillor

Rob Foster

This election is about change.

For me, the change and certainly the challenge is running for Niagara Region after having been a member of Lincoln Town Council for 18 continuous years.

I have a record of success and leadership when it comes to our community – our investments in infrastructure are paying dividends, we have new state of the art facilities, and we are a growing prosperous community.

I have had the opportunity to take on strong roles at Lincoln Council – I have had the privilege of Chairing the Planning and Development Committee for 9 years, and I have been honoured to be chosen Deputy Mayor for close to 7 years.

I have always believed in transparency and accountability, two important characteristics needed at the Region of Niagara.

Let’s be frank – there are serious credibility problems with the leadership of Niagara Region at this time. This cannot continue and the pettiness must stop.

The future of Niagara and the Town of Lincoln are both dependent on politicians who believe in open and transparent government.

Our municipality is on a strong economic development path, and it requires a strong and focused Niagara Region to help make Lincoln into the true gem that we all know that it both is and should be in the future.

Lincoln Council has moved forward with ambitious community goals and plans. However, road and traffic safety continue to be a significant challenge.

It is these issues that our Town, the Region and the other West Niagara municipalities need to fully and seriously address.

We require safe mountain accesses, increased MTO inspections, and a continuation of appropriate speed limits and their enforcement on Lincoln’s Regional roads. Ensuring safe communities for all of us is something we must be working towards.

Lincoln is a great place to live, but youth and seniors still require better options on housing and transportation.

The Region and Town must work together for housing strategies that make sense and we need a co-ordinated transportation policy.

Our ULinc pilot project is a shining example of positive accomplishments.

I have experience, I have a proven track record of leadership for our community, and I have the desire to help bring credibility to the Region.

On October 22nd, vote for a strong voice for Lincoln – vote Robert Foster for Regional Councillor.
