Pioneer Day returns for Oct. 5

What’s old is new again at Lincoln’s annual Pioneer Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m-4 p.m.
Lincoln Museum and
Cultural Centre will play host to exploration of many activities and exhibits that convey the
Town’s rich history.
Visitors can enjoy traditional music and dance with performances by the Niagara Folk Arts Centre song & dance ensemble and the Lincoln Concert Band and learn about the many farm animals raised by Lincoln’s settlers at an animal enclosure hosted by J.K. Farms.
Children can check out the kids area which holds activities such as flower crown crafting and candle-making. Jim Buckwell will be returning with his steam engine and a collection of vintage tractors.
Snack and treats will be provided by Grand Oak Culinary Market. They will bring traditional sweets such as apple fritters, oliebollen and hot apple cider.
New this year is the ‘Tale of a Town’ story mobile. It is a mobile archive that will be collecting the stories of folks childhoods in Lincoln to help add to the history of Lincoln that Pioneer Day celebrates.
“Everything is reflective of the traditions that the original founders of Lincoln would have brought with them,” said Lincoln Museum program & event facilitator Sylvia Beben.
Admission to all these activities and more is free for all ages. Parking will be available at BDSS and there will be a free U-Linc shuttle to the museum and back.
