JD Pachereva, Ward 2, Lincoln 2022
It has truly been an honour and pleasure to have served the residents of Lincoln and specifically Ward 2
for the last 19 years. I am hoping to be able to continue doing this so that we may keep moving the
Town forward.
During my tenure we have completed many transformational items: A new official plan with the Town
acting as a Centre of Agricultural Excellence, new bylaws governing cannabis cultivation, the
Prudhomme’s Secondary plan which will chart the course for growth on the last available lakefront
property in the Golden Horseshoe, the New Fleming Arena & Library, Rotary Park, Prokich Park,
Konkle Creek Multiuse Trail, and a revitalized Ashby Park to name a few. What is the common element
with all of these is that we sought public input and let that drive the discussion that led to the outcome.
The municipal politics is the level of government that is “closest to the people” Ask anyone how much
they paid in GST or HST for the year and they will not have the slightest idea – unless they are an
accountant. But ask someone what they pay in property tax and that figure can be recalled in a matter
of seconds.
Collaborating with your Councillor, we can affect change that affects your everyday life. Whether it is
moving the Canada Post mailbox on Stadlebauer Drive away from the dangerous curve, installing speed
bumps and other traffic calming measures to make your neighbourhood streets safer, having a three
way stop installed at Village Park and Crescent Avenue to allow our children safe passage to school; it’s
through public input and conversation that we can achieve these together.
We are fortunate that 69% of our town is within the Greenbelt. Urban sprawl will not be an issue here.
Growth that will take place will occur within the urban boundaries and we must make sure that this
does not negatively affect our current citizens and occurs in a smart well thought out fashion. We must
also make sure we push to get infrastructure built and paid for by those that need it. Development
should contribute and pay for it.
We have made great strides in the field of climate change, resiliency and innovation but can always do
more. I will help drive this to make our Town a healthy, vibrant community.
Experience and passion matters. I love our Town and want to collaborate with you to make it the best it
can be. We have done some wonderful things together but there are still many things to accomplish. I
want to thank the residents of Ward 2 and hope that you will continue to support my bid to represent
you again.
I will always be available to take your call or email and will advocate on your behalf.
Thank you JD
